The Deep Knox Play of the Black Warrior Basin

An Excerpt From the MGS Spring Symposium

The Mississippi Geological Society is proud to present Stewart Welch's PowerPoint Presentation, entitled "Black Warrior Basin: Deep Knox Play" as the first installment of PowerPoint excerpts from the Society's 2002 Spring Symposium. This presentation requires that you have either PowerPoint (the entire Microsoft program) or the free PowerPoint Viewer installed on your system in order to view the slide show. Note also that some of the images contained in the presentation are fairly large (in file size); therefore, some patience is advised for those viewers limited to slow internet access, such as dial-up services.

If you presently do not have either PowerPoint program installed on your system, and wish to download the free Viewer in order to view the presentation, simply click here and follow the instructions for downloading and installing Microsoft's free PowerPoint Viewer 97.

Note - some older versions of PowerPoint may not launch the presentation. If you are unable to view it with your version, we advise that you click on the link shown above and download Microsoft's latest version of the Viewer (the installation of which should not affect the existing version on your PC).

Hint: once you've launched PowerPoint or the  Viewer, you can click on the Full Screen icon (located at the extreme lower right hand side of the Viewer window) to launch the PowerPoint presentation in Full Screen mode; then simply advance each slide with a click of the mouse. Note also that the presentation is opened in a separate browser window; simply close that window when you are finished, and you can return to this site.

To launch the presentation, click on the following link, after carefully reading the following legal notice.

Important Legal Notice - for personal use only.  By clicking on the link below, you agree not to reproduce this presentation for distribution to anyone other than yourself.  Stewart Welch and the Mississippi Geological Society reserve all other rights.  Thanks for your compliance.
